A specialty program that deals with First Aid in any emergency, not only in diving related emergencies. It is a prerequisite for some other programs, such as: Divemaster, Surface Controller, Underwater Guide and Oxygen Provider.
A specialty program designed to teach the diver more regarding the U/W environment. Emphasys is placed in informing divers of the symbiotic relationships and how actions that might seem quite harmless can be very negative for the U/W environment. We wish, with this course, to safeguard the environment by providing divers with an ampler knowledge of the U/W environment.
A specialty program designed to give divers the basics of an activity that does not damage the environment and, at the same time, provide divers with another reason to stay active in diving by giving a purpose for each dive, other than merely be observants of the U/W realm. By creating new underwater photography divers we also create an excellent marketing medium (the very same diver) to attract other people into diving.
A specialty program designed to increase safety when diving in sunken objects (boats, planes, etc). Another objective of this course is to safeguard the historical value of the wreck and increase the social conscience and the educuation of the divers in this sense. It is higly recommended that people taking this course also take the U/W Archeology course.
A specialty program designed to increase safety in night diving and limited visibility diving. Emphasys is placed in the special equipment needed for night diving and also, in the different night time environment compared to day time diving.
A specialty program designed to increase social, cultural and historical awarenness in the diver. Total importance is given to the fact of contacting the appropiatte authorities and experts if the diver believes to have found something of interest. It is the intention of this program to create a human resource base able to work in underwater archeology projects under the supervision of expertes and authorities. It is ACUC's opinion that the better educated the diver is, the less chances exists that he or she will become and underwater objects "predator".
One of the key ACUC specialty programs. It has been demostrated that in most diving accidents, the correct application of oxygen to the victim has given excellent results and increases the chances of recovery. Divers must have a recognised First Aid course as a prerequisite for this course.
A specialty program designed for divers that teaches them how to do maintenance and basic repairs in their equipment. Highly recommended for those that are thinking of working or owning a Dive Center or Dive Club.
A specialty program designed to increase the knowledge, and therefore the safety, of those that wish to practice diving in caves or confined spaces. ACUC does not recommend the general practice of this risky activity, but acting reallistically, offers the opportunity to those that wish to do it anyway to obtain the knowledge that will allow them to increase the safety factor. This ACUC program is not available in all countries.

This program also covers altitude diving.
A specialty program oriented towards non diving persons that wish nevertheless to participate in diving activities. The surface controller is the person that controls the water entries and exits of divers, the buddy teaming, the divers equipment, air consumption. decompression tables, etc. The surface controller must have the specialties of First Aid Provider and Oxygen Provider. It does not have to be a diver, though.
A specialty program designed for those that wish to carry on the water related activities of a Divemaster but does not wish to participate in the didactic responsabilities of the Divemaster. The Underwater Guide must have excellent rescue skills, group control skills (specially underwater), as well as the specialties of First Aid Provider and Oxygen Provider.
A specialty program designed for Advanced Divers that are interested in investigating the didactic areas of diving, assisting in organizational and practical duties, but not teaching, in dive courses. Also a must for those divers that, without being instructors, wish to become instructors in same specialties where this is allowed, such as U/W Photography Instructor, etc. The program also pretends to create a base of human resources from where Instructors can obtained non teaching help during courses.
